We compiled this from numerous surveys and polls on the internet, some all critics, some all fans, so it's a combination. This represents over 1000 individual polls. We simply put

These are all the westerns mentioned in our Top Ranked Films on the Internet survey. Only the first 35 made the top 1000, but I listed all those mentioned. I'm using the IMDB genre categories, so the Brazilian films of Rocha are included based on that, I've not seen any of them. From our survey of Top Ranked Films on the Internet, these are the top documentaries, which cover a wide variety of subjects: history, culture, music, sports, war. Man With a Movie Camera remains fresh and innovative today, and the Riefenstahl films, even though propaganda, are as important for history as they are for film technique.
